Real Wedding Stories

Fay and Gerry Oates

Every time I look through the Evening Post and see the Wedding Planner and all the adverts for weddings, I feel exactly as your advert suggests: My Wedding Day went too quickly and that I could do it all over again every weekend.

On July 28th 2007 I married the love of my life Gerry Oates- my fairytale romance ending in a fairytale wedding.

We tied the knot at Blanco's Hotel and Restaurant in Port Talbot, And we were the first Civil Ceremony to take place there. The day was fantastic, everything was perfect and Julie the wedding coordinator at Blanco's and all the staff worked really hard to ensure that everything was perfect and it certainly was.

The ceremony was lovely, and it was so nice to be able to have all our close friends and families there to share our special day. We even managed to get down to Aberavon beach for photographs before it started to rain!!

We also wanted to ensure that everyone had a fun day and so we booked "Dame Edna" otherwise known as  Simon Whitehouse from London as our quest entertainer, and that turned out to be one of the best decisions that we made. What a professional service from start to finish, Simon really did his background work gathering information from us about friends/family etc in order that he was able to include as many of our guests into his act as possible. I think the photographs say it all as everyone seemed to be laughing all through the day.

I love looking at the photographs of the day and remembering what a fantastic time we had, but I do really feel that I never wanted the day to end.

I would love you to print this to let my husband know how much I love him and how glad I am we married.
