Real Wedding Stories

Where do I start, I first met my husband, Michael when I was 14 years old.

We attended the same school together until 1997. We were really good friends, but nothing ever came of it. We kept in touch, 18th birthday partys, engagements and wedding etc. I was first married in 2002 but it ended in 2006 when my first husband left me with two children aged 1 and 2 at the time. It was then that Michael and I got in touch again and we started to see more of ech other. Michael was marvelous to myself and my children. We started dating in February 2007, We were on a weekend trip to London when Michael proposed to me. We were on the London eye and Michael got down on one knee in front of everyone :-) We decided to have a winter wedding, and started planning our dream wedding!!. We booked the church St Samlets first, and then the Venue Manor Park country house Clydach for 70 people. We had our service at 1.00pm and the choir sang Silent night and away in a manger. Whilst signing the register they sand O holy night and Joy to the world.

My bridemsaids wore burgundy dresses with ivory fur wraps from BHS and I wore an Ivory Maggie Sottero dress with a fur bolero Jacket. baught from Victoria Bridal in Swansea. Michael and his attendants wore black tails with Ivory waistcoats and Burgundy cravats.

On the morning of the wedding I was awake at 6am and over the Hairdressers Floyds in Port Tenant by 7am.I had half my hair up and half down with curls.

My make up was done by Claires Beauty in Llanelli. I had my hair and Make up trial two weeks before and they both knew what I wanted and it looked even better on the day.

We booked a horse and carriage with Kates Carriages a traditional maroon, black and gold Landau carriage to take us to the church and our bridesmaid had a black limosine. My bouquet was red roses with Diamonte pins and ivory feathers around the edges and My bridemsaids were Ivory roses with Diamonte pins. Our Venue was decorated by Denise from Balloon occasions. It was magical and so christmasy!! We had black candlabras with mistletoe and red roses and Ivory candles. Baytrees covered in snow and twinkley light back drop behind our top table. We made our favours ourselves little satin gift boxes with burgundy bows filled with Thorntons chocolates. Our cake was done by Cakes by Sue we had a six tier fruit cake that looked like christmas parcels.

The tables were named after santas reindeer with the top table being named Rudolph :-) Our first dance was "I do" by westlife. We had a chocolate fountain in the evening which our guests seemed to enjoy very much and a handmade guest book for everyone to sign.

As our wedding was so close to christmas we decided to wait til new years day before going on honeymoon. We spent two weeks in Egypt in a 5 star hotel Reef Oasis Blue bay.
